About the Role

Position Overview

Cadence is seeking a motivated and analytically driven Financial Analyst Intern to join our team for the summer. This hands-on internship offers an exceptional opportunity to gain real-world experience in financial analysis within the rapidly growing data center industry. The intern will work directly with senior finance professionals and contribute to high-impact projects that support strategic decision-making.


Key Responsibilities

Customer & Subcontractor Financial Qualification

  • Analyze financial statements, credit profiles, and risk indicators for prospective customers and subcontractors
  • Assist in developing and applying standardized financial qualification scorecards and evaluation frameworks
  • Prepare summary reports and recommendations on financial viability for internal stakeholders

Data Center Project Financial Modeling

  • Assist in building and refining financial models to evaluate new data center construction projects
  • Conduct scenario analysis including sensitivity testing on key project variables (CapEx, OpEx, revenue, IRR, NPV)
  • Benchmark project economics against industry standards and comparable builds
  • Prepare financial projections and pro forma statements to support investment decisions
  • Collaborate with project management and operations teams to validate cost assumptions


Qualifications

Required

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
  • Completion of at least two years of undergraduate study by program start date
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including financial modeling and data analysis
  • Solid foundational knowledge of financial statements and accounting principles
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills with exceptional attention to detail
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills


Preferred

  • Familiarity with DCF analysis, IRR/NPV calculations, and capital budgeting
  • Experience with financial software tools
