About the Role

JOB OVERVIEW: 

The Investment Management Intern will support the Investments team with market research, financial analysis, and due diligence activities related to real estate and other investment opportunities. This internship provides hands‑on exposure to the investment process, portfolio analysis, and preparation of internal investment materials. The role is designed to offer meaningful professional learning while contributing to active investment initiatives. 

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Investment & Market Analysis

  • Assist with market research on potential investment opportunities, including economic trends, comparable properties, and market fundamentals
  • Support financial analysis and basic cash flow modeling under supervision
  • Help prepare investment summaries and draft materials for internal review
  • Assist with market research to support strategy development
  • Use the CRM system to research prospective investors and relevant market topics

Due Diligence & Deal Support

  • Assist with due diligence activities for prospective acquisitions, including review of leases, operating statements, and third‑party reports
  • Organize diligence materials and maintain internal trackers and databases
  • Help organize and maintain the diligence data site (data room), including document indexing, version control, and file organization
  • Coordinate with internal teams to gather information required for investment evaluation
  • Conduct research on potential capital sources, including institutional investors, consultants, and strategic partners
  • Support due diligence on prospective limited partners (LPs), including background research and compilation of diligence materials

Portfolio & Asset Support

  • Support analysis of existing portfolio performance, including data collection and variance analysis
  • Assist with updating internal reports and dashboards related to asset performance
  • Conduct ad‑hoc research to support asset management and investment decisions

Reporting & Presentations

  • Prepare Excel and PowerPoint materials for investment committee meetings and internal presentations
  • Assist with data validation and quality control of financial and reporting materials

General Team Support

  • Maintain accurate investment files and documentation
  • Organize and maintain contact lists and CRM records, including data entry, tagging, and basic list hygiene
  • Assist with scheduling meetings and coordinating site visits, as needed
  • Participate in team meetings and gain exposure to the full investment lifecycle and fund raising process

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a bachelor’s or master’s program in Finance, Real Estate, Economics, Business, or a related field
  • Strong analytical and research skills, comfortable using AI
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with PowerPoint
  • High level of attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Professional written and verbal communication skills
  • Interest in investments, real estate, or asset management
