About The Company
MassDEP serves the Commonwealth by protecting natural resource areas that involve water, land and air. MassDEP is responsible for ensuring clean air and water, safe management and recycling of solid and hazardous wastes, timely cleanup of hazardous waste sites and spills, and the preservation of wetlands and coastal resources. MassDEP enforces environmental laws, provides technical assistance to cities and towns, issues permits and licenses for activities near sensitive resources, inspects contaminated site cleanups, and partners with other federal and state agencies, municipal officials and environmental stakeholders.
About the Role

The Department of Mental Health, Central Mass Area (CMA) Office in Worcester is seeking an energetic and highly organized individual to provide office support to the Area Office and assist with special projects. This student intern will gain understanding of the DMH system and knowledge of human service agencies/resources offered throughout the CMA. 

                  Assist with administrative support tasks for Divisions: Area Office, Child, Youth, and Family, Housing, and Quality Management.

                  Run/Create reports and charts using Excel with data extracted from DMH’s electronic medical record system, MHIS, and Inform and Warehouse databases. 

  •        Conduct research to explore and gather information for topics and services on specialty community providers and specialized needs

                 Draft, proofread, edit, and mail letters.

                 Assist with coverage at the front desk - meet and greet visitors and guide callers.

                Data entry, filing, and archiving records

                Assist with special projects and DMH initiatives.

Period of Service:

May 26, 2026 through September 4, 2026

Additional Information:

Benefits are unavailable with the exception of sick leave accruals.

All employees will be paid on a biweekly basis and must have direct deposit.

Hours: 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Days Off: Saturday and Sunday

Salary placement is determined by a combination of factors, including the candidate’s years of directly related experience and education, and alignment with our internal compensation structure as set forth by the Human Resources Division’s Hiring Guidelines. For all bargaining unit positions (non-management), compensation is subject to the salary provisions outlined in the applicable collective bargaining agreement and will apply to placement within the appropriate salary range.
