What you will accomplish as a Engineering Intern at TAPCO:

The primary function of the Engineering Intern is to provide support for the Research and Development Area in the Engineering Department by performing working on the development of existing and new products. This person will learn about the operations of TAPCO and how it relates to their major. This position reports directly to the Engineering Manager and is a temporary position.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Draws in AutoCAD or Solidworks products
  • Organizes and researches Blinker product history
  • Researches ECN/ECO information
  • Performs mass change updates in NAV and Excel
  • Writes documentation
  • Researches information on technology

Required Qualifications and KSA

  • Must be currently enrolled in a 2 or 4 year college or university majoring in an Engineering related program
  • Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite of Product
  • Experience with an ERP system a plus 
  • Math skills - add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. 
  • Computer skills – Data entry, Microsoft Office Suite
  • Understand and communicate technical issues 
  • Knowledge of electrical and mechanical interfaces 
  • Components and materials 
  • Able to learn and accept feedback 
  • Able to work cooperatively with others
  • Able to accurately enter data 
  • Detail oriented
  • Dependable
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills
