Pay Rate: $20.94/hr (effective July 1, 2026)

About the Legal Resource Center

Our work is to educate the SF State community on their legal rights, helping students access information and

connecting them with legal resources when confronted with stressful issues. The Legal Resource Center staff

is dedicated to providing access to legal resources and opportunities that will further student’s educational

goals. Our staff refer students to local Bay Area Legal Aid organizations and assist with researching and

presenting information with the goal to increase awareness on specific legal topics. We provide semester long

internships for students who are interested in law.

The AS Legal Resource Center (LRC) does not provide legal advice and does not establish or create a client-

attorney relationship or any representation with any student(s) seeking legal resources.


Position Summary

The Director is responsible for implementing and the day-to-day operations of the Legal Resource’s program

and should have an understanding of the program’s function and purpose. The Director assists the Senior

Director Education & Equity ensuring the program’s future success. The director is responsible for making

sure the content on the AS Website is current. Prepares and submits written monthly reports at the end of

the month and for the year-end Annual Report.


Job Description:

● Plans and coordinates a minimum of three (3) educational workshops/events per semester in

Creates and maintains relationships with university departments and community

organizations.

● Responsible for the fiscal management of the LRC; assisting in developing and managing the

LRC budget, planning purchases for the program bi-annually, including updating LRC

library, ordering office supplies, and LRC giveaways and special merchandise.

● Supervises staff of LRC and creates work schedules; scheduling regular team meetings; co-

leads team training with supervisor; engages interns and volunteers with leadership and

professional development through the LRC events.

● Prepares and submits to AS Business Administration & Finance all requisitions for contracts

and purchase orders.

● Manages the inventory of LRC giveaways and completes records of students’ attendance

during events and students seeking resources

● Manages and updates legal resources, LRC Program Brochure and content on AS website.

● Coordinates room reservations using 25Live and updates the AS Program Event Calendar

● Makes design and social media requests to create marketing materials for annual and

outreach events

● Responsible for updating the Program’s webpage, office guidelines and staff office hours

● Attends mandatory monthly All Staff Program meetings and scheduled trainings

● Prepares and submits monthly and annual reports to Supervisor

● Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

● Current SFSU students enrolled in at least 6 units for undergraduates or 4 units for

graduates.

● Excellent verbal and written communication skills

● Organized, supervisory experience is preferred

● Successful completion of at least one semester in the LRC volunteer program

● Previous experience in a legal office environment, preferred.

● Completed course in the Pre Law or Paralegal program, preferred.

● Strong computer competency, to include excel, word processing programs, writing

memos/emails
