Job Description:

Rate of Pay: $20.00 per hour

Under administrative direction, the Management Intern for Student Engagement designs, plans, and implements programs, services, and resources for students at the Downtown Phoenix location that support self-governance, leadership, development, organizational development. The Management Intern also assists in designing and creating a roster of activities and programs that promote a vibrant and supportive campus life experience fostering student affinity to ASU.

Essential Duties:

  • Coordinate student organization management and student leadership workshops, programs, and events (i.e., advisor and officer training, leadership conferences, Fall/Spring Welcome programming, club fairs, Sun Devil Central).

  • Serve as consultant for student organizations in support of their organizational and program development and implementation.

  • Serve as a co-administrator of Sun Devil Central (ASU’s club management platform).

  • Review and approve club registrations on Sun Devil Central, ensuring compliance with student organization policies.

  • Serve as a liaison for 1000+ student organizations.

  • Manage daily responses to inquiries and messaging through Case Management software (Salesforce).

  • Assist with budget & financial management through submission of RFFs and purchase orders.

  • Create and implement effective social media and marketing strategies that are in line with university guidelines, to raise awareness of student activities and opportunities for engagement.

  • Create digital event materials, graphics, maps, and presentations.

  • Co-advise Programming and Activities Board (PAB) to support student driven programming for the campus community.

  • Assess and manage risks associated with activities/programs to ensure safe experiences are in compliance with university policies.

  • Schedule room reservations as needed through Mazevo, and work with PAB President to ensure an event registry is completed for all events.

  • Collaborate with campus, university and community partners to implement student activities.

  • Assess programs and services, and report results.

  • Share on-site supervision duties of evening and weekend events when appropriate.

  • Stay informed of development in the profession and engage in continuous professional development as available.

  • Attend seminars, workshops and conferences related to position.

  • Provide excellent customer service.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Days and Schedule: This is a 20 hour per week position, including nights and weekends, with flexible days and hours based on the programming needs.  The duration of employment for this position is based on the academic year calendar. For the academic year, employment dates are approximately May 18, 2026, through May 14, 2027. An additional one year extension may be offered contingent upon an annual review.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in a related field; OR, any equivalent combination of education and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.

You are required to be enrolled in a Graduate Program during the duration of your employment and continuation of your employment will be based on your enrollment in a Graduate Program.  You will be expected to regularly communicate your class schedule to your supervisor.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience in event planning and coordination; 

  • Experience in using programs (e.g PC and/ or Mac, Adobe, etc.);

  • Experience in working in a rapidly changing work environment;

  • Experience in providing excellent customer service;

  • Evidence of effective verbal and written communication skills (composition, grammar, spelling, and punctuation);

  • Evidence of being enrolled in a Graduate Program.

Working Environment:

  • Professionally represent department/program;

  • Work collaboratively across various departments within the University;

  • Develop and deliver presentations to groups;

  • Use computers effectively - including inputting, reviewing and retrieving information;

  • Communicate effectively both orally and in writing;

  • May lift up to 25 pounds.
