New Nurse Experience Fall 2026 Student Preceptorship Application

This opportunity is for NURSING STUDENTS GRADUATING IN October 2026 - January of 2027 ONLY.

Great nursing careers are built at Banner Health. The New Nurse Experience Student Preceptorship offers 4th semester students an opportunity to work alongside an experienced Registered Nurse. 

NOTICE: Banner Health will primarily offer 2026 Student Preceptorships at North Colorado Medical Center in the clinical areas listed below. For the best chance of securing a placement, we recommend selecting one of these options as your first or second choice of interest when you complete your student application:

  • Medical Surgical

  • Progressive Care

Banner Health will have extremely limited number of available 2026 Student Preceptorships in the clinical areas listed below. If one of these areas is your most desired area to complete your student preceptorship, then we recommend you only select one of these as your first choice. We recommend you select one of the above options as your second choice of interest when you complete your student application. Unfortunately, there are no guarantees we will be able to meet your request:

  • Emergency Center

  • Critical Care

Unfortunately, Banner Health will not be offering 2026 Student Preceptorships in the clinical areas listed below. If you would still like to secure a placement, we recommend you select one of the options offered in the above selections.  

  • Neonatal ICU (NICU) or Pediatrics ICU (PICU)

  • Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, Antepartum

Student Preceptorship Program

Our program provides students a collaborative learning environment in which you will have the opportunity to refine your nursing skills, enhance your knowledge, and develop personal and professional relationships. The successful candidate will be placed in specialized units at Banner Health facilities to be clinically mentored by unit staff and educators. Unit preferences will be taken into consideration as we strive to achieve your nursing career goals.  Within the program we hope to successfully match your desired service line with the needs of the business.  

Students who complete the preceptorship program are considered for a potential transition into the Banner New Nurse Experience Program as a full-time Registered Nurse in the same facility and same unit, once a licensed registered nurse.   

The Banner Health New Nurse Experience is an AACN PTAP accredited, evidence-based, industry-recognized program to help successfully transition you from a new graduate to a fully competent, professional nurse at Banner Health.

Requirements to apply online:

  • Enrollment in an accredited nursing program

  • Current GPA of 3.2 or higher

  • Current BLS card through the American Heart Association or able to obtain before clinical rotation starts.

  • BSN is preferred
