About the Role

The Application Security Intern supports the GCS Application Security team in assessing and strengthening the security posture of applications through vulnerability scanning, penetration testing, and security analysis. The role combines structured training, shadowing, and hands‑on execution in DAST, retest, and pentesting activities.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Assist in conducting DAST (Dynamic Application Security Testing)—including gathering requirements, running scans, validating results, and preparing detailed security reports.

  • Support penetration testing activities by joining scoping sessions, preparing testing environments, executing scans/tests, and documenting findings using standard reporting templates.

  • Participate in technical and knowledge‑transfer trainings, including platforms such as Portswigger Academy, and apply learnings to actual testing tasks.

  • Engage in job shadowing with Technical Leaders, SMEs, and mentors to learn pentesting, retesting, and DAST execution processes.

  • Maintain daily task logs and contribute to performance discussions during bi‑weekly reviews.

Required Qualifications:

  • Currently taking up BS Information Technology, BS Computer Science, BS Computer Engineering, or any related fields.

  • Basic understanding of cybersecurity concepts, application security, or related technologies (preferred but not required).

  • Good communication and documentation skills, especially for creating technical notes or reports used in assessments.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with leaders, mentors, and cross‑functional stakeholders.

When you join our team:

  • We’ll empower you to learn and grow the career you want.

  • We’ll recognize and support you in a flexible environment where well-being and inclusion are more than just words.

  • As part of our global team, we’ll support you in shaping the future you want to see.
