American Wood Fibers (AWF) is a manufacturer of both consumer and industrial products that are sold to multiple manufacturers as well as pet, agricultural, and home-heating markets. AWF is comprised of 350+ employees and holds operations at 11 locations, generating over $100M in annual sales revenue. We are currently seeking a candidate for the Finance (Intern) role in our Columbia, Maryland office. 

Position Summary:

The Finance Intern will support the AWF organization by assisting with data entry, administrative tasks, and operational backfill during employee PTO. This role provides hands‑on exposure to plant‑level data management, financial operations workflows, and cross‑functional support within a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Data Entry— Enter, verify, and maintain operational and financial data for the Schofield plant and additional plant locations as assigned.
• PTO Support— Provide temporary coverage for routine data and administrative tasks when team members are out of office.
• Document Management— Organize, update, and maintain digital and physical files to ensure accuracy and accessibility.
• Operational Reporting— Assist with generating and formatting basic reports used by the AWF team and plant managers.
• Cross‑Functional Coordination— Collaborate with Finance, Operations, and Plant teams to ensure timely completion of assigned tasks.
• General Administrative Support— Perform additional duties as needed to support the AWF organization.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data handling
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of financial and operational information
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft 365 tools
• Strong organizational and time‑management skills
• Ability to work independently and follow established processes

COMPENSATION 

$19.00 an hour
