About the Role

Butler Machinery is looking for a motivated and reliable Landscaping Intern to join our team. This hands-on role is ideal for individuals interested in gaining real world experience in landscaping, horticulture, and outdoor operations. 
 
This role will work alongside our building maintenance team to assist in a variety of ground maintenance tasks for our Fargo and Corporate locations.


Work Location: Candidates must be located at, and work from, our corporate office in Fargo, ND.
Schedule: 15-25 hours per week (additional hours may be available occasionally)
Duration: Summer Internship


 Responsibilities
:

  • Mow, edge, trim, turf, and green spaces to maintain a professional appearance.
  • Maintain trees, shrubs, and landscape beds.
  • Prune trees and hedges to promote growth and prevent safety hazards.
  • Operate power tools and equipment, including lawnmowers, blowers, chainsaws, and weed trimmers.
  • Safely operate company vehicles, as needed.
  • Remove debris, litter, leaves and branches from grounds, parking lots, shelterbelts, and walkways.
  • Clean and perform repairs on outdoor amenities such as benches, bike racks, grills, etc.
  • Assist with maintaining irrigation systems.
  • Report potential safety hazards, structural damage, or plant health concerns to management
  • Adhere to safety procedures and regulations when using tools and equipment.
  • Works within and promotes the vision, mission, and values of BMC.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Qualifications:

  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Previous outdoor work experience preferred (landscaping, construction, farming, etc.)
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
  • Attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Willingness to learn and take direction
  • Reliable, punctal, and self-motivated
