JOB SUMMARY: The Mechanical Design Engineer Intern will be part of our engineering team focused on producing manufacturing drawing packages. This includes the formation of drawings, bills of materials, P&IDs, and be a technical resource supporting pressure vessel construction. There is also the opportunity to be a part of ongoing product and process developments. This position provides significant advisory engineering support by method of calculations and code adherence. 



ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Be responsible for CAD modeling in Solidworks for a variety of Tomco products 
  • Collaborate with the engineering team to create manufacturing drawing packages for ASME pressure vessels. 
  • Ensure drawings, calculations, and bills of materials are accurate and complete. 
  • Act as a technical resource, providing support for pressure vessel construction and assembly. 
  • Address technical questions, issues, and provide solutions to ensure code compliance. 
  • Participate in ongoing product and process development projects within the engineering team. 
  • Contribute ideas, designs, and recommendations to enhance product efficiency and quality. 


KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND/OR ABILITIES:

  • Current enrollment in a bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field. 
  • Strong interest in pressure vessel design and ASME code. 
  • Proficiency in engineering software and CAD tools (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks). 
  • Ability to perform engineering calculations and analysis. 
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills. 
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy. 
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills. 
  • A proactive and self-motivated approach to work.
