Project Title:
Maintenance Cost Analysis and Data Review for Equipment Technician Functions

Project Description:
This internship project focuses on developing an understanding of maintenance cost and part utilisation within manufacturing equipment technician functions. The intern will explore maintenance-related datasets, component usage patterns, and cost considerations through structured data review and guided learning.

The project provides exposure to how equipment maintenance technician teams evaluate part usage, interpret failure trends, and review improvement opportunities, while building foundational knowledge in semiconductor equipment systems, data analysis, and engineering concepts.

Objective of the project:
To develop a structured understanding of maintenance cost drivers, part usage patterns, and data analysis approaches within equipment technician environments.

Project Scope:

  • Review equipment maintenance datasets to understand part usage trends and patterns
  • Analyse historical data to explore potential relationships between usage, failure trends, and cost factors
  • Learn how maintenance workflows and part management are structured within manufacturing environments
  • Observe approaches used by equipment technician and engineering teams to evaluate maintenance strategies
  • Document observations and findings related to maintenance cost and improvement opportunities

Learning Opportunities:

  • Exposure to semiconductor manufacturing equipment and maintenance concepts
  • Application of basic data analysis techniques to engineering datasets
  • Understanding of maintenance workflows and part lifecycle considerations
  • Development of structured problem solving and data interpretation skills
  • Exposure to collaboration between equipment engineers and technician teams

Deliverables:

  • Documented analysis of maintenance part usage and data trends
  • Summary of observations on cost factors and potential improvement areas
  • Basic documentation outlining understanding of maintenance workflows
  • Final presentation covering key findings and learning outcomes

Impact of Project:

  • Improved understanding of maintenance cost drivers and part utilisation patterns
  • Enhanced visibility of data trends to inform engineering and maintenance discussions

Skillsets Required:

  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications such as Excel and PowerPoint
  • Basic analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Interest in data analysis and engineering applications
  • Ability to document and communicate observations clearly

Course of Interest:
