About the Role

General Description: Support the Information Technology team and assist with performing all processes and procedures necessary to ensure the safety of information systems and applications on premise and in the cloud. The Information Technology Intern assists with troubleshooting and supporting company systems, security and infrastructure.

Core Duties and Responsibilities:

  • User support: Provide prompt and effective technical assistance to end-users via various channels such as phone, email, chat, or in-person. This involves troubleshooting hardware, software and network-related issues. 
  • Documentation: Accurately document user interactions, technical issues and resolutions using a ticketing system to ensure proper follow-up and knowledge sharing.
  • Attend weekly meetings with support teams
  • System Maintenance: Assist in installing, configuring and maintaining computer systems, software applications and peripheral devices.
  • Knowledge Base Development: Contribute to creating and updating internal knowledge base articles and user guides to facilitate efficient issue resolution and user self-service. 
  • Hardware deployment: Assist with the deployment or moves of hardware, including setup and configuration to ensure users have the necessary tools for their roles. 
  • Assist in organizing and maintaining the IT department’s workspace to enhance operational efficiency. 
  • Support Inventory Management by labeling assets and maintaining the asset management system to ensure accurate tracking and up-to-date records. 
  • Additional duties as needed

Position Requirements:

  • Actively enrolled Senior or recent alumni from a fully accredited College/University with concentration in Information Security, Information Technology, Computer Science or similar; a minimum GPA of 3.5 Cumulative is strongly preferred 
  • CompTIA + Certification preferred
  • Course work or basic understanding in some of the following areas desired: Endpoint Security, Network Security, and User Access Security, Application Security, Cloud Security, Data Security
  • Adept at using Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Excellent communication skills and superior attention to detail
