About the Role

Description

FAME is seeking a summer intern to help evaluate the overall effectiveness of the Grow Maine program. This work will include performing both qualitative and quantitative analysis of the nearly $62 million in funding deployed to date.


Responsibilities include In depth portfolio analysis of the debt, equity, and fund investment transactions. Conduct surveys and outreach activities to glean insights on program efficacy. Review of Treasury guidelines on evaluating program performance to design a program for evaluation that complies with federal guidance. Additional research should include gathering information on how other states have evaluated the effectiveness of their SSBCI programs.


This is a paid internship and with flexible days and hours for an expected 12 weeks during the months of June through August 2026. Candidates must have the ability to be present in the FAME Augusta office several times throughout the project and present a final presentation in-person.

Requirements

Successful candidates must meet the following education and work experience requirements:

  • Attained or in pursuit of a four (4) year college degree in math, business, economics (or an appropriate combination of education and work experience) is required.
  • Strong computer, time management and problem-solving skills are required. 
  • Experience with excel, PowerPoint, and/or other data visualization tools.
  • Ability to balance role as individual contributor with project management responsibility; work independently; and interact effectively with management and peers required.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze complex issues and provide policy recommendations.
