About the Role

The Supply Chain Intern supports the supply chain and operations team by assisting with material flow, inventory tracking, and planning processes. This role provides hands-on experience in production planning, inventory management, and cross-functional collaboration within a manufacturing environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with tracking material replenishment for raw materials and finished goods.
  • Support planning teams in maintaining appropriate inventory levels.
  • Help monitor stock parameters and identify potential shortages or excess inventory.
  • Assist in reviewing purchase orders and supporting order tracking activities.
  • Collaborate with upstream and downstream planning teams to ensure alignment.
  • Help analyze basic inventory discrepancies and support corrective actions.

Main Activities

  • Support PR to PO tracking in ERP systems under guidance of team members.
  • Assist in reviewing system alerts (such as MRP exceptions) and escalating as needed.
  • Help coordinate with suppliers regarding delivery timelines and updates.
  • Assist in maintaining accurate records of purchase orders, acknowledgements, and shipments.
  • Support inventory analysis to help maintain stock availability and minimize shortages.
  • Work alongside logistics and transportation teams to track shipments.
  • Assist with basic reporting and data analysis related to supply chain performance.
  • Participate in team meetings and continuous improvement initiatives.

Learning Objectives

  • Gain exposure to ERP systems (e.g., SAP) and supply chain planning tools.
  • Develop an understanding of MRP, inventory management, and production flow.
  • Learn how supply chain teams collaborate across functions (planning, logistics, warehouse).
  • Build analytical and problem-solving skills in a real-world manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a degree program (Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field).
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong communication and willingness to learn in a team environment.
