Supply Chain Intern

The Supply Chain Intern supports the supply chain and operations team by assisting with material flow, inventory tracking, and planning processes. This role provides hands-on experience in production planning, inventory management, and cross-functional collaboration within a manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with tracking material replenishment for raw materials and finished goods.
- Support planning teams in maintaining appropriate inventory levels.
- Help monitor stock parameters and identify potential shortages or excess inventory.
- Assist in reviewing purchase orders and supporting order tracking activities.
- Collaborate with upstream and downstream planning teams to ensure alignment.
- Help analyze basic inventory discrepancies and support corrective actions.
Main Activities
- Support PR to PO tracking in ERP systems under guidance of team members.
- Assist in reviewing system alerts (such as MRP exceptions) and escalating as needed.
- Help coordinate with suppliers regarding delivery timelines and updates.
- Assist in maintaining accurate records of purchase orders, acknowledgements, and shipments.
- Support inventory analysis to help maintain stock availability and minimize shortages.
- Work alongside logistics and transportation teams to track shipments.
- Assist with basic reporting and data analysis related to supply chain performance.
- Participate in team meetings and continuous improvement initiatives.
Learning Objectives
- Gain exposure to ERP systems (e.g., SAP) and supply chain planning tools.
- Develop an understanding of MRP, inventory management, and production flow.
- Learn how supply chain teams collaborate across functions (planning, logistics, warehouse).
- Build analytical and problem-solving skills in a real-world manufacturing environment.
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a degree program (Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field).
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Strong communication and willingness to learn in a team environment.
