Summary:
The summer research assistant will support the continued development of the Aquatic Resource Trade in Species (ARTIS) dashboard and related visualization tools for exploring global seafood trade and nutrient flow data. The student will work closely with the research team to design and implement interactive network flow and spatial network visualizations that help communicate complex relationships within global food systems and trade networks. Responsibilities will include prototyping and developing visualization components, integrating visualizations into existing web applications, and assisting with iterative interface design and usability improvements.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
Part-time.
17 - 18 hours per week.
Salary Range:
$18.40 per hour.
Required Education and Experience:
Applicants should have proficiency in JavaScript.
Experience with D3.js for interactive visualization.
Familiarity with basic web application stack development.
Experience using Git for version control and collaborative development is expected.
Preferred Education and Experience:
Students with interests in data visualization, human-computer interaction, geography, environmental systems, or network analysis are especially encouraged to apply.
