POSITION SUMMARY
Mecklenburg County Park & Recreation is excited to welcome temporary High School Interns to the team for our Recreation Employment Corp (REC) program! This is a work-based learning program employing youth, ages 14-17, as interns at neighborhood recreation center and nature centers. The incumbents will participate in facility operations, assist with recreation programs, and work closely with a Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation staff mentor who will provide close supervision and guidance during this program. The selected candidates will also participate in mandatory workshops on professional skills development. Specific job details for each participating facility will be discussed during the interview process.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
•Work under the guidance of professionals.
•May prepare technical reports, synopsis and presentations.
•Work independently on separately assigned projects/tasks.
•May collect/organize data and other information and create presentations

 


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Experience:
N/A

Education: Must be a current High School student

Combination of relevant experience and relevant education accepted?: No

Computer Skills: General knowledge of various computer applications

 

 

KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES

Knowledge:
