This Service Leadership Work-Study (SLWS) position offers students the opportunity to serve and learn alongside the 2026 Social Innovator in Residence, Antionette Priscilla Carroll. This position is not designed to replace or replicate the responsibilities of trained personnel. Instead, it emphasizes learning through civic engagement, inquiry, reflection, and systemic analysis. Student will be supervised by Vicki Nolton in the CLS and will be mentored by Antionette Priscilla Carroll.
Responsibilities
- Assist in designing and setting up participatory art experiences
- Support material sourcing and installation preparation
- Help facilitate co-making sessions and creative gatherings
- Assist with visual displays, prompts, interactive experiences, and exhibition preparation
- Support accessibility and welcoming design considerations
- Help document participant reflections and artistic responses
Desired Qualifications
- Interest in visual art, social practice art, design, theater, creative placemaking, installation work, or arts facilitation
- Comfort with hands-on creative work
- Ability to think spatially and collaboratively
- Interest in community-centered art practices
