About the Role

DCI Engineers – Spokane

Jumpstart your surveying career with DCI Engineers in our Spokane, WA office. As a Survey Field Technician Intern, you’ll gain hands-on experience supporting field survey operations, working outdoors, and learning to use industry-standard equipment under the guidance of experienced survey professionals.

What You’ll Do
As a seasonal Survey Field Technician Intern, you can expect your work responsibilities to include:

  • Assist survey crews with field data collection for boundary and topographic surveys
  • Support the setup and operation of survey equipment, including GPS and total stations
  • Take clear, organized field notes and photographs
  • Assist with basic field calculations under direction of senior staff
  • Support office staff with data processing or drafting tasks as needed
  • Learn through hands-on field experience and mentorship

What You Bring
To succeed as a Survey Field Technician Intern, you should bring the following skills and experiences:

  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying terrain and weather conditions
  • Ability to perform physical tasks, including walking long distances and carrying equipment
  • Interest in land surveying, geomatics, engineering, or a related field
  • Degree in progress in Geomatics, Surveying, Engineering, or a related program preferred
