Environmental Pond Analyst

Position Summary

Denali Water Solutions is seeking a detail-oriented and environmentally focused Environmental Pond Analyst to support the monitoring, maintenance, and operational management of wastewater ponds, lagoons, and related environmental systems. This role is responsible for collecting and analyzing environmental data, monitoring pond performance, ensuring regulatory compliance, and assisting with water quality management initiatives.

The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, environmental awareness, and the ability to work independently in outdoor environments while supporting operational and environmental compliance goals.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Monitor and inspect wastewater ponds, lagoons, and containment systems to ensure proper operation and environmental compliance 
  • Collect water, sludge, and soil samples for laboratory testing and analysis 
  • Conduct routine field inspections to evaluate pond conditions, water levels, aeration systems, and overall site performance 
  • Record and maintain accurate environmental data, inspection logs, and compliance documentation 
  • Analyze environmental trends and identify potential operational or environmental concerns 
  • Assist with stormwater management, runoff prevention, and erosion control measures 
  • Coordinate with operations teams, environmental agencies, and laboratory personnel as needed 
  • Ensure compliance with EPA, OSHA, state environmental regulations, and company environmental policies 
  • Assist in preparing reports related to environmental monitoring, sampling results, and corrective actions 
  • Support pond maintenance activities including vegetation management, pump inspections, and equipment monitoring 
  • Identify and report safety hazards, spills, leaks, or environmental incidents immediately 
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment at all times 


Qualifications

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Engineering, or related field preferred 
  • Previous experience in wastewater treatment, environmental monitoring, pond management, or related environmental field preferred 
  • Knowledge of environmental regulations, sampling procedures, and water quality analysis preferred 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills 
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and environmental reporting systems 
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record required 


Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather and environmental conditions 
  • Ability to walk uneven terrain, climb embankments, and access remote pond locations 
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds occasionally 
  • Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and walk for extended periods 
  • Must be able to wear required PPE and safety equipment 


Work Environment

  • Combination of fieldwork and office reporting responsibilities 
  • Exposure to outdoor environmental conditions, wastewater facilities, ponds, lagoons, and treatment areas 
  • Occasional travel between operational sites may be required
