The Opportunity  


Manulife Asia’s ambition to become the Leading Pan-Asian Insurer is enabled by achieving global digital and customer leadership in our peer group. For the last 5 years, we have focused 
on building out new capabilities to digitize and simplify our customer experience and we’ve invested heavily in growing advocacy from our customers. The Regional Marketing team is the 
bridge between Global Marketing and individual countries, in which we operate, to build strategies and programs to achieve our digital and customer ambitions through commercial and 
execution focused marketing excellence. At Strategy & Business Planning, the intern will gain management exposure through interacting with senior stakeholders such as Chief Marketing 
Officers and regional team leaders at the Marketing function on a daily basis. 


Position Responsibilities:  


Strategic & Business Planning Support 
• Support the development and execution of regional marketing strategy and annual business planning. 
• Prepare executive-ready materials (presentations, dashboards, briefing notes) for leadership discussions. 
• Proactively identify gaps in analysis or storyline and recommend improvements. 
• Assist in coordinating strategic planning sessions, offsites, and leadership cadences (agenda design, synthesis of discussions, follow-up tracking). 


Commercial & Financial Insights 
• Support quarterly expense reviews and annual budgeting processes in collaboration with Finance and market teams. 
• Conduct structured analysis to identify cost optimization and reinvestment opportunities. 
• Track marketing performance metrics and synthesize insights linking activities to business outcomes. 
• Use AI-enabled tools to accelerate data synthesis, benchmarking, and reporting productivity. 


Project & Initiative Management 
• Coordinate cross-functional marketing initiatives, including transformation programs and operating model enhancements. 
• Manage multiple workstreams simultaneously, prioritize effectively, and track progress against deadlines. 
• Drive follow-through on action items with stakeholders across markets and functions. 
• Demonstrate ownership by anticipating risks, flagging issues early, and proposing practical solutions. 


Team Engagement & Communications 
• Support internal communications such as newsletters, townhalls, and learning sessions. 
• Help design engagement initiatives that strengthen collaboration and team culture. 
• Maintain shared planning tools and calendars to enhance visibility and coordination. 
• Leverage AI tools to improve drafting efficiency, content structuring, and communication quality. 


Operational Excellence 
• Identify opportunities to streamline reporting, documentation, and governance processes. 
• Support leadership meeting cadences, ensuring timely inputs, clear pre-reads, and structured outputs. 
• Assist with key administrative processes (procurement, delegation of authority, onboarding) while maintaining attention to detail and confidentiality. 


Required Qualifications:  
• AI-Enabled Productivity: Experience using AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Copilot, Notion AI, etc.) to enhance research, synthesis, drafting, and workflow efficiency. 
• Communication & Stakeholder Skills: Clear, concise communicator who can work effectively across functions and cultures. 
• Proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel; familiarity with budgeting or planning tools is a plus. 
• Proactive & Ownership Mindset: Takes initiative, follows through independently, and is comfortable operating with ambiguity. 
• Strong Prioritization & Multitasking Ability: Able to manage competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality. 
• Analytical & Structured Thinker: Comfortable working with data and translating analysis into clear insights.
