About the Role
BBQ Holdings is looking for a motivated and curious Summer Marketing Intern to join our Brand Marketing team at our home office in Minnetonka, Minnesota. Think of this internship as a marketing residency. Over 8 weeks, you'll rotate through real-world brand marketing responsibilities, from attending photo shoots to writing digital campaign copy to reviewing point-of-purchase materials giving you hands-on exposure to what a career in brand marketing looks.
You'll work directly alongside a Senior Brand Manager and collaborate with cross-functional partners, getting a front-row seat to how national restaurant brands are built and marketed.
 
POSITION DESCRIPTION & PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
 
Brand Marketing Support
* Assist the Senior Brand Manager with day-to-day brand marketing tasks and campaign execution.
* Help develop and maintain brand standards, messaging guidelines, and creative briefs.
* Participate in brand strategy discussions and marketing planning meetings.
 
Content & Creative
* Write and edit copy for digital marketing campaigns across email, web, and social channels.
* Attend and support on-location photo shoots, helping with logistics, shot lists, and asset organization.
* Proof and review point-of-purchase (POP) materials for accuracy, brand consistency, and quality.
 
Research & Analysis
* Conduct competitive research and market analysis to support brand positioning.
* Track campaign performance and help compile reporting for the Brand Marketing team.
* Stay current on industry trends, food and beverage marketing, and digital best practices.
 
Collaboration & Learning
* Work cross-functionally with creative, digital, operations, and culinary teams.
* Shadow different marketing functions to build a well-rounded understanding of the discipline.
* Present a summary of your internship learnings and a capstone project at the end of the 8-week program.
 
QUALIFICATIONS:
 
Education:
* College junior, senior or recent graduate
 
Experience:
* Strong written communication skills with a sharp eye for detail and proofreading.
* Comfortable working both independently (remote flex hours) and collaboratively in an office environment.
* Organized and reliable, able to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and follow through.
* Familiarity with social media platforms, digital marketing concepts, and tools like Canva or the Adobe Creative Suite is a plus.
* A positive attitude, willingness to learn, and readiness to jump in wherever needed.

* Strong research and analytical abilities
* Creative thinker, with the ability to translate new ideas into practical application for the brand
* Evidence of effectiveness working independently, demonstrated self-starter
