About the Role

Description

SUMMARY: To assist in the day-to-day functions of the Accounting Department.


SUPERVISOR: Accounting Manager


DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Review check request and invoice for proper account coding and supervisor approval.
  • Manual Checks into the Account Payable system as required.
  • Enter assigned month-end journal entries
  • Assist in preparation of monthly Bank Reconciliations.
  • Assist in preparation of monthly Balance Sheet reconciliations.
  • Assist with the preparation and maintenance of the agency program budgets.
  • Prepare financial reports for department managers as needed.
  • Perform other duties as needed.
  • Complies with agency policies and procedures, COA regulations, federal and state requirements, and educational/certification/registry requirements.

Requirements

  •  Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to perform work required with minimal supervision.
  • Experience in use of personal computers, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Word.
  • Must be bondable if required.
  • Valid Ohio Driver’s License and ability to meet agency requirements for driving insurability if applicable.
  • Must be able to meet agency requirements for criminal background check (Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification & Investigation).

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:  Working towards Bachelors of Science in Accounting preferred.
