ABOUT THE ROLE 
The objective of this position is to support the Laboratory in day-to-day tasks and learn about asphalt material.


This position is from May to August.

 

WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH

  • Assist in testing of asphalt products to service our customers’ needs (BBR, PAV, RTFO, DSR, pen and viscosity)
  • Extraction and recovery of recycled asphalt materials
  • Adhere to all company safety and environmental practices and policies – training provided  
  • Contribute toward the overall success of the safety program by following set rules procedures and practices
  • Identify and report workplace hazards and make positive suggestions for their elimination or control
  • Generally, perform duties in the safest manner prescribed
  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.

 

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Education: Currently enrolled in Chemical or Civil Technologist Diploma or equivalent
Required Training/Certifications: Valid Driver’s License 


Additional Requirements: 

  • Computer Proficiency: QC Software and MS Office applications
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends, which may include night shifts and overtime
  • Able to work a variety of hours including some evenings and weekends
  • Effective written and oral communication skills
  • Strong team player with a positive attitude
  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
