About the Role

PIL Internship

With PIL Group, as interns, you have the opportunity to be immersed in a diverse range of businesses from shipping to logistics.  Hone your skills and have hands-on exposure in business units* such as Finance, Fleet, Information Systems, Human Capital Management, Commercial, Marine Operations and Procurement, Logistics and more.

What to expect as an intern:

Learn from experience maritime professionals.  A reporting manager be assign to guide and train you on maritime industry, sharing with you specific business units needs knowledge, develop your business savviness, soft skills and leadership skills.

Global Sustainability and ESG Intern

Duration: 3 to 6 months

The selected intern(s) will be given broad exposure to PIL’s sustainability performance endeavours via the Global Sustainability and ESG division. Specific responsibilities and tasks include: 

    1. Sustainability Report 2025 (data collection and editorial work)
    2. GHG inventory 2025 (data collection and management)
    3. Research and benchmarking of industry ESG-linked practices and initiatives
    4. Research on industry sustainability developments and preparation of monthly upper management reporting (alternative fuels, decarbonisation)
    5. Support administration of PIL Eco-rise climate learning (rollout of new phases)
    6. Facilitation of ESG outreach events (lead / co-lead organisation of events)
    7. Support administration of ongoing ESG initiatives (e.g., GCAM scorecard)
    8. Drafting communications for internal and external sustainability initiatives
    9. Other general support matters (as and when required)

  4. Exposure to industry sustainability practices, initiatives and solutions

Internship Opportunities

Who We’re Looking For

  • Environmental science / management, business studies, social sciences, maritime studies or any other discipline with exposure to sustainability.
  • 3rd year undergraduate or beyond
  • Curious and self-motivated with a strong interest in sustainability
  • Analytical mindset with good attention to detail
  • Competent in research, writing and use of visual communication tools
  • Comfortable with engaging stakeholders and active collaboration
  • Basic proficiency in MS office productivity software.
  • Some proficiency in visual communication tools is an advantage.
