Young Person Water Specialist, Work Experience Placement – Derby, 13th-16th July 2026

Location:  Severn Trent, Pride Park, 73 Derwent Parade, Derby DE24 8HY

Date –Monday 13th -Thursday 16th July (4-days)

Who it's for: 

Young people aged 14–18 who are interested in gaining hands-on experience of the world of work and exploring future career opportunities.

This placement is ideal for those who are curious, willing to learn, and keen to build confidence in a professional environment. Whether you already have a career in mind or are still exploring your options, this is a great opportunity to try something new, develop key skills, and get a real insight into how teams work day to day.

No previous experience is needed—just a positive attitude and a willingness to get involved!

What’s This All About?

In this placement, you’ll get a behind-the-scenes look at how we support our customers and keep our operations running smoothly. You could spend time with our Water Specialist team  and/or our Scheduling & Delivery team in the office, seeing how both areas work together to deliver a great service.

You’ll learn how we handle customer enquiries, manage jobs, and coordinate work happening out in the field—making sure the right people are in the right place at the right time.
