Young Person Facilities Management, Work Experience Placement – Leicester, 20th-23rd July 2026 

Location:  Leicester water centre, Anstey Lane, Gorse Hill, Leicester, LE7 7GU 

Date – Monday 20th-Thursday 23rd July (4-days) 

Who it's for: 

Young people aged 16–18 who are interested in gaining hands-on experience of the world of work and exploring future career opportunities.

This placement is ideal for those who are curious, willing to learn, and keen to build confidence in a professional environment. Whether you already have a career in mind or are still exploring your options, this is a great opportunity to try something new, develop key skills, and get a real insight into how teams work day to day.

No previous experience is needed—just a positive attitude and a willingness to get involved!

What’s This All About?

Get an inside look at how we manage and maintain our sites to keep them safe, compliant, and running smoothly. In this placement, you’ll join our Facilities Management (FM) team and see how we look after buildings, workspaces, and the people who use them.

You’ll take part in regular site walks, learning how we check everything from safety standards to day-to-day operations, and see how we work with different teams to keep sites in great condition.

We’ll take the time to explain tasks clearly, answer your questions, and help you build your confidence as you learn. You’ll be encouraged to try new things, develop your skills, and get involved in different activities across the team.

Our goal is to make sure you leave your placement feeling supported, informed, and motivated about your future—with a better understanding of the world of work and the exciting opportunities available to you.
