PURPOSE

Reporting directly to the Manager, Valuation, the intern will support statutory reporting, reinsurance reporting, and ongoing initiatives to enhance actuarial and reporting processes.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Contribute to process enhancement and automation initiatives, including improving reporting workflows and controls, enhancing claims monitoring and analysis tools, developing simple dashboards / scripts to improve speed, accuracy, and efficiency
  • Perform data analysis and support the team in identifying trends and insights in actuarial data.
  • Support the Valuation team on ad‑hoc projects (e.g. model testing, experience monitoring, management reporting).

EXTERNAL & INTERNAL STAKEHOLDER MANAGEMENT

  • Key internal stakeholders: Actuarial, Finance and Business Owners.

QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE

  • Current undergraduate (Year 1-3) Actuarial Science or related field (e.g. Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Data Science)

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITY

  • Keen interest in actuarial work and willingness to learn technical concepts
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Exposure to Excel/Programming/Data tools is an advantage such as Python/VBA/SQL
