The Employment Outreach Counsellor supports individuals facing employment barriers by conducting intakes, providing case management, and guiding clients through goal setting and job‑readiness activities. The role also involves coordinating with community partners, supporting clients in an employment resource centre, and collaborating with the internal employment services team to help clients achieve sustainable employment outcomes.

What You Will Do  

  • Assist in conducting intake interviews, client progress meetings, conduct client orientation.
  • Assist Career Development Specialist in monitoring client attendance and work behaviours.
  • Assist in providing case management services; client goal planning, identifying and accessing appropriate services, counsel clients to assist them in achieving their goals.
  • Support clients with employment related activities at on-site employment resource centre.
  • Liaise with community professionals and make community presentations as required.
  • Attend staff meetings, seminars and workshops, as required.

What We Are Looking For

  • Post-secondary education, experience in Social Work/Social Services field preferred.
  • Experience and/or interest in case management, employment counselling.
  • Experience and/or interest in working with persons with disabilities or employment disadvantages.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, Self-directed, flexible, organized, team player.
  • Basic word processing and computer skills.
  • Must be willing to complete a criminal reference check.
  • Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment. Have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.
  • Between 15-30 years of age at the start of employment.
