Salary Range: $22-$24 per hour

As our next Production Co-op Student, you’ll be transforming existing processes into modern digitized processes using IIOT, and other modern computer hardware and software tools. The co-op will be assisting in convert and converge projects streamlining machining and assembly lines.Responsible for improving manufacturing processes, equipment/tooling alternatives, flow of operations for the effective utilization of personnel, material, machines and facilities necessary for the production of parts. In conjunction with Quality, Engineering and Operations work groups, takes a key role in the development and implementation of smart manufacturing cells and work processes.

What You’ll Be Doing:
Develop Value Stream Maps for various processes.
Implement lean manufacturing techniques and JE Production Systems (6S, Kaizens, PDCA/DMAIC, etc.)
Develop automated process data acquisition and control of equipment.
Good to have skills using Power BI, python, JavaScript, HTML database, SQL, no-code and other apps to digitize the shop floor.
May help maintain and develop equipment utilizing machine learning techniques.
Develop processes and simulations using Simul8.
Can work on plant layouts using AutoCAD and develop any small designs using SolidWorks.
Work independently while taking initiative where appropriate from the office to the shop floor
Work closely with production and technical support resources and suppliers to ensure timely completion of projects
Develop knowledge and skills to be recognized for expertise and functional leadership in application of engineering principles, scientific analysis, continuous improvement and project management
Monitor and understand new technologies to improve quality and efficiency
Must be willing to work any assigned daily shift, weekends, and overtime as required
Coordinate continuous improvement initiatives
Works in compliance with JE Quality and EHS Policies and Procedures, including IATF 16949 / ISO 9001 / ISO 14001
All other duties as assigned
What We’re Looking For:
Engineering, Management, Industrial or Manufacturing student, or similar, with preference for automotive parts or manufacturing background
Excellent computer skills and experience using modern computer techniques (Microsoft Office, PowerBI, Power Automate)
Experience with open-source software, hardware and techniques
Database and data manipulation skills with SQL, python, csv, etc.
Knowledge of Windows OS, Linux OS, and IIOT devices
Can-do attitude with a desire to learn
Ability to multitask by handling diverse assignments concurrently
Excellent communication skills (oral and written)
