The Actuarial Intern will perform tasks to support the Actuarial Services and Systems department and management objectives including:

Performing testing of systems output to ensure that the correct price is implemented for each member and that benefit options are accurately quoted.

Performs basic integrity checks of data and peer reviews of actuarial analysis.

Performs basic maintenance of methods and models to ensure that models are functioning appropriately.

Required Qualifications:

Degree program(s) / Current Status: Undergraduate student with studies in actuarial science or related field.

Cumulative GPA: 3.0 preferred; 2.8 minimum cumulative GPA.

Relevant Experience: Must have demonstrated ability and commitment level to complete actuarial certifications. Credit for one actuarial exam preferred.

Other Qualifications:

Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel).

Knowledge of SQL is preferred.

Must demonstrate excellent analytical, organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.

Must be able to think analytically and present ideas professionally.

Self-motivated, adaptable to a changing work environment and team-oriented.

Must be able to work 20-30 hours per week and provide your own housing in Baton Rouge, LA.
