About the Role

Project Objectives

  • Identify high-volume, polymer-based raw materials commonly used across label production processes at all sites. ( general high use polymers only)
  • Document manufacturer/supplier, chemical makeup, and application
  • Collect and centralize Technical Data Sheets (TDS) and SDS
  • Create a standardized, searchable database(excel etc)
  • Improve safety, compliance, and visibility
Qualifications

Scope of Work

  • Identify high level production raw materials (resins, substrates)
  • Product chemical makeup (ethylene, butylene etc.)
  • Inks, dyes, and coatings utilized in the process
  • Capture manufacturer, product name, chemical composition, and usage
  • Collect TDS and SDS documentation 

Potential Secondary Project

  • Solvent distillation system for chemical recovery
  1. Identify potential uses for small compact solvent distillation system
  2. Identify potential hazardous waste reduction at site level
  3. Evaluate potential cost savings at site levels for utilization
  4. Evaluate potential rebates or profit from selling clean recovered solvents
  5. Evaluate return on investment potential of less than 1 year
  6. Evaluate and identify any safety risks and liabilities
  7. Identify potential volumes of solvent recovery based off of beta site
  8. Complete a site audit of a current company using a solvent distillation system.
