As a 24/7 operation, we have openings across all shifts, including days, evenings, weekends, and 12-hour schedules. Candidates must be flexible and willing to work any shift based on operational needs. Overtime—both scheduled and unscheduled, including holidays—may also be required.
What you will do:
Week 1: Aircraft Safety & Ground Operations
- Learn general safety protocols around aircraft.
- Understand proper grounding procedures and why they’re critical.
- Observe and assist in safe aircraft movement and positioning.
- Learn acceptance procedures for aircraft entering maintenance.
- Participate in safety briefings related to engine operations and fire protection systems.
- Perform supervised ground handling signals and external walk-around inspections.
Week 2: Aircraft Configuration & Electrical Safety
- Understand aircraft and electrical system configuration safety.
- Get hands-on experience with circuit breaker Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Learn the importance of following electrical safety protocols in an aviation environment.
Week 3: Hazardous Materials & Tool Control
- Receive training on handling and storing hazardous materials.
- Learn how to handle Electrostatic Discharge Sensitive (ESDS) components.
- Observe proper ESDS component removal and transfer procedures.
- Understand and assist in tool control and Foreign Object Debris (FOD) prevention.
- Learn how to identify and safely manage disconnected or disabled safety-critical items.
Week 4: Advanced Safety Procedures
- Understand the use and importance of danger tags during maintenance.
- Learn safety procedures related to fuel tank maintenance and how to identify applicable requirements.
Qualifications
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to following safety protocols.
- Eagerness to learn in a hands-on, team-oriented environment.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Must be able to work onsite and meet all required safety and access clearances.

SMS REQUIREMENTS
- Employees are responsible for performing their duties in accordance with company policies and government regulations. These rules are written in the interest of preserving the lives and the resources entrusted to each employee, and when the rules are violated, the risk of a mishap is usually increased.
- Employees shall participate in safety education programs and train to recognize hazards on the job and how to report them promptly. As a condition of employment, each member of Ascent Aviation agrees to report errors, incidents, and accidents honestly.
- Any employee who observes an unsafe action or condition should bring it to the attention of supervisors and managers. Certain conditions may allow the employee to easily correct a condition or situation.
- In all cases, the employee must notify his/her supervisor of any actions taken by the employee. The first employee to observe an accident or incident should take immediate action to alert appropriate responders/supervision and to take reasonable steps to prevent further injury, or damage.
WORKING CONDITIONS
· Physical Demands: Requires sitting, standing or walking for extended periods of time. Requires bending, stooping, squatting, climbing, reaching to shoulder level, crouching, kneeling, and balancing. Requires lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling weight up to 75 pounds. Requires repetitive hand movement. Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity. Requires corrected vision to normal range and ability to communicate effectively.
