Position: Land Survey Internship
Job Status: Nonexempt-hourly

THE ROLE 

Turn your classroom knowledge into real‑world impact.
During your internship in Land Survey, you’ll work alongside experienced professionals on meaningful projects that shape communities. You’ll gain hands‑on exposure with land surveying projects to support our civil engineering projects—building practical skills, confidence, and a clearer vision for your future in Surveying. Morrison-Maierle provides civil engineering design and consulting for projects related to transportation, airports, industrial, municipal infrastructures, water, land development, environmental, survey, planning, CAD, and buildings focused on structural, mechanical, electrical and information communication technology.

These responsibilities include:

  • Assist with conducting in field land surveying and construction staking
  • Operate Trimble GNSS, conventional, and robotic equipment to collect field data.
  • Learn survey data processing using Trimble Business Center, drafting exhibits, plats, and Certificates of Survey using ACAD Civil 3D.
  • Use data to learn how to make topography maps to support project work.
  • Performs project tasks and works closely with cross-functional teams.

 

YOUR STRENGTHS

  • Currently enrolled in or nearing completion of a degree in Surveying Engineering, Geomatics, Land Surveying, Mapping Science, or an ABET‑accredited engineering program with a surveying emphasis. Related degrees in Civil Engineering, Forestry, or Construction Management will be considered with relevant surveying coursework..
  • Dependable, positive attitude, professional bearing, team player, long-term vision, and can-do attitude.
  • Interpersonal skills to meet and communicate effectively with other team members.
  • Valid driver's license and an insurable driving record.
  • Able to spend a good deal of time working in outdoor elements.
