Job Summary
IEEE is a not-for-profit, global technical association dedicated to advancing technology for humanity. We’re looking for a Social Media Marketing Intern to join our IEEE Computer Society marketing team this summer and gain hands-on experience across the full spectrum of digital marketing.
What You’ll Do
As our intern, you’ll dive into real projects that support initiatives in STEM, university programs, and professional learning. You’ll sharpen your skills while helping us engage students, computer engineers, scientists, academia, and industry professionals from all areas of computer science and engineering.
Your daily adventures may include:
- Assist the CS Marketing Team with execution of social media campaigns.
- Coordinate and post content and promotional messages to CS’s Social Media outlets including but not limited to Facebook, X, Instagram, LinkedIn, BlueSky, YouTube etc.
- Track analytics through Google Analytics, Facebook Insights, YouTube Analytics, X Analytics, and other analytics tools.
- Monitor the conversation around topics relevant to CS
- Engage proactively with positive mentions, interactions, and influencers on all channels
- Provide creative support, including creation of promotional assets including but not limited to videos, photos, audio, text assets, slide decks, flyers,, and more, as needed. Leverage templates and tools to support a digital repository of reusable assets.
What We’re Looking For
Junior or Senior pursuing a degree in Marketing, Communications, English, or related field
GPA of 3.0 or higher
Strong writer and communicator with creative problem-solving skills
Familiarity with social media platforms, email marketing tools, and WordPress
Experience with Google Ads, Google Analytics, Canva, or AI-marketing tools is a plus
Organized, detail-oriented, and able to juggle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
