Job Summary:
Join our compassionate and collaborative team as a Student Trainee, where you will gain hands‑on experience supporting behavioral health services while developing practical skills that complement your academic training. This position offers a valuable opportunity to observe, participate in, and co‑facilitate client services under supervision while contributing to meaningful treatment outcomes. If you are motivated to learn, professional, and passionate about helping others, this role provides exposure to real‑world clinical environments and multidisciplinary team collaboration.

In this role, you will support program activities, observe clinical practices, and assist in treatment processes while adhering to ethical standards, confidentiality requirements, and program expectations. You will also gain insight into the functions of various roles within the organization through direct experience and structured learning opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:
· Observe and participate in behavioral health services under supervision
· Adhere to professional conduct standards, confidentiality laws, and ethical guidelines
· Participate in staff meetings, treatment team meetings, and training sessions as requested
· Assist in identifying client needs, strengths, and areas of concern within the treatment process
· Document and report any concerns related to client behaviors or interactions
· Co‑facilitate educational and recreational groups to support client engagement
· Assist with admission and orientation processes, including vital signs and safety procedures when applicable
· Monitor client activities and ensure safety, structure, and accountability
· Maintain knowledge of precaution protocols and ensure proper documentation
· Assist in screening and monitoring detoxification clients (Adult Programs only)
· Serve as a positive role model and support clients throughout their treatment journey
· Participate in staff development activities and contribute to program effectiveness
· Perform other duties as assigned

Education, Experience, and/or Credential Qualifications:
· Must be currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s, Master’s, Nursing, or higher‑level academic program as part of internship or practicum eligibility

Additional Qualifications:
· Must have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record and current auto insurance
· Strong verbal and written communication skills
· Ability to establish rapport with clients and work effectively with diverse populations
· Knowledge of confidentiality laws related to mental health and substance use services
· Ability to follow direction and work under supervision
· Basic computer proficiency and ability to use electronic systems

Physical Requirements
· Ability to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally
· Ability to perform repetitive hand, finger, and arm movements for typing and documentation
· Ability to sit for extended periods with occasional walking or standing
· Ability to meet the physical demands of a sedentary work environment
