JOB SUMMARY
IPG Photonics is seeking a driven and proactive Inside Sales Intern to support and accelerate the growth of our innovative line of hand-held laser welders and cleaners that is transforming the fabrication industry. In this role, you will have exposure to customers and distributors, participate in live demonstrations, and interact with cross-functional team members to enable seamless sales execution. This position is an excellent opportunity for a motivated student to make a significant impact within a fast-growing, disruptive technology segment and to advance their experience working withing a high-performance team.
JOB FUNCTIONS
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Sales Qualification: Qualify and engage in inbound leads generated from marketing efforts, tradeshows, product demonstrations, and events.
- Demonstrations: Participate in the technical, logistical, and marketing aspects of demonstration events for both current and prospective customers.
- Customer & Partner Support: Work closely with customers and channel partners to ensure IPG’s full support; identify and implement improvements as needed.
- Outbound Prospecting: Engage strategic markets and new accounts through a mix of email campaigns and cold calling.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational abilities with attention to detail.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software (Dynamics 365 preferred).
- Excellent multitasking and prioritization skills.
- Positive attitude with strong willingness to learn
- Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively
- Strong English language communications skills – written and verbal
Requirements:
- Must be a student currently enrolled in an accredited college or university in a program directly related to our business operations
- Has the ability to work a consistent schedule during business hours
- Has reliable transportation to and from work

This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a "US Person" as defined by 22C.F.R. §120.15 are required. "US Person" includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, asylee. License exception Technology and software under restriction (TSR) defined in 15 CFR 740.6 may permit person from Country Group B.
