About the Role


SUMMARY:


We are seeking an energetic, responsible intern to join our growing organization. In this position, you will be expected to learn the ins-and-outs of our daily routines and procedures. You will focus on learning how our organization runs. 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Optimize FSQA processes - Understand all FSQA tasks to optimize tasks and propose improvements within the FSQA department – i.e. flow, process, all checks / tasks frequency and/or are they necessary.
  2. Work on Special projects:
    • Metal Detection (move from CCP to Pre-requisite program)
      • Collect data – trend data.
      • Update program
      • Train monitors
    • Trend foreign objects against production to support not reasonably likely to occur.
    • Other special projects as identified to support food safety / quality.
  3. Understands the overall concept of the company, including the brand, customer, product goals, and all other aspects of service.

  4. Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to use basic mathematics.

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma or High School Equivalence Certificate.

  • Must be enrolled in an accredited university/college program.

  • A background in engineering and process design.

  • Prior industry education is preferred.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: 

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. May require unassisted lifting for a variety of objects from various positions which range up to 35 pounds. Weights above 50 pounds require assistance or medical device.

 

Full time position that works Monday through Friday, generally 8 hours per day, with minimal overtime.  Travel is not required for this position.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  • The office environment is typically climate controlled of 68ºF to 72ºF and clean, with normal air contaminants, such as dust, typically found in an office environment
  • The indoor production environment is climate-controlled of 40ºF to 45ºF with regular exposure to prolonged noise
  • While in the production area, all employees are required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to include hair and beard nets, rubber soled shoes, smocks, hearing protection and hard hats.
