About the Role

Program Background


Hatzel & Buehler, Inc. College Internship Program is designed to introduce students to the wide range of career opportunities within the electrical construction industry. Since its inception, the program has consistently supported students in developing professional skills, building workplace relationships, and gaining meaningful, hands-on experience.


Program participants have gone on to achieve significant post-internship success, including acceptance into local IBEW (International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers) apprenticeship programs and securing full-time employment within the industry.


Program Overview


The BIM/VDC intern will gain hands-on experience in Building Information Modeling (BIM) and electrical construction workflows, supporting both design and coordination efforts. This role provides exposure to industry-standard software such as Revit, Evolve, and Autodesk Construction Cloud while working closely with BIM specialists, project managers, and field teams. The intern will develop an understanding of electrical drawings, 3D modeling, and digital project coordination, while contributing to real-world projects in a collaborative environment. Through a combination of structured training and practical application, the intern will build foundational skills in modeling, documentation, and construction technology.
