About the Role

Program Background


Hatzel & Buehler, Inc. College Internship Program is designed to introduce students to the wide range of career opportunities within the electrical construction industry. Since its inception, the program has consistently supported students in developing professional skills, building workplace relationships, and gaining meaningful, hands-on experience.


Program participants have gone on to achieve significant post-internship success, including acceptance into local IBEW (International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers) apprenticeship programs and securing full-time employment within the industry.


Program Overview


​​The Estimating and Project Management Intern will gain hands-on experience in both the preconstruction and project execution phases of electrical construction. This role provides exposure to cost estimating, project planning, and day-to-day project management activities while working closely with experienced estimators, project managers, engineers, and subcontractors. The intern will develop an understanding of construction drawings, industry-standard estimating software, and project documentation practices, while contributing to real projects in a supportive learning environment. This position is designed to build foundational skills in estimating, cost analysis, scheduling, and project coordination, preparing the intern for a future career in electrical construction management​ 
 

Through this experience, you will build a strong foundation in both technical and professional competencies while gaining insight into potential long-term career paths within the organization and industry.
