Cyber Security Engineer Co-op

Persistent Systems is seeking a Cyber Security Engineering Co-op with a focus in Information Security to join our growing team.  As a Cyber Security Engineer, you will be a critical member of the Persistent Program Team. This Cyber Security Engineer will possess strong core competencies in Project Management and Information Security in the US Defense and related industries to work closely with the Engineering team. Duties will span Information Security project management on assigned programs involving Wave Relay® MANET communications for customers ranging from Government, Intelligence Operations, or non-Government. This individual will play a pivotal role in communicating our customers’ technical challenges in Information Security to our engineering department and solving problems.  This person will also be integral to engineering product development and work closely across the Persistent Systems team including Sales, Contracts, Field Operations, Product Management, Engineering, Quality, and Programs. 

Position Responsibilities 

• Managing Information Security project management for product development, certification, sustainment, and policy adherence 
• Managing all aspects of Government projects, including project plans, project support personnel, deliverables, modifications, updates, and responses 
• Maintaining all project management data, including project plans, project schedules, project budgets, risk management, requirements management, and project tasks 
• Working directly with the Project Specialist and / or other stakeholders across departments to ensure project budget and personnel reporting is accurately reported. 
• Leading project teams to execute projects on time, within budget, while meeting customer requirements 
• Liaising between Government Program Managers and other company stakeholders 
• Working with customers to complete required Government forms and support Authority to Operate (ATO) Lifecycle. This includes preparing, submitting, and maintaining ATO documentation, and driving the process. 
• Maintaining understanding of Information Security for all network and communications systems and Government policies and procedures. 
• Support and facilitate engineering projects including new product/solution development, product changes, and customer integration 
• Work effectively across the company to leverage all functional areas in the design, development, and deployment of Wave Relay® MANET solutions 

Minimum Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in a Master's degree program in Cyber Security, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related field 
• Successfully completed at least one course in engineering design
• Successfully completed at least one course in RF theory
• Must have a United States security clearance or the ability to obtain a United States security clearance 

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior Internship experience with Product Development
• Prior Internship experience with systems development, evaluation and requirements capture
• Prior Internship experience with Systems engineering and networking experience
• Knowledge of audio/video encoder/decoders and interfaces

The pay for this role will vary from $80 to $100 an hour based on the selected individual's experience.
