About the Role

We are currently seeking a highly motivated NOC Operations Intern to join our Technical Operations Team at the Digicel Khalsa office, reporting to the NOC Manager. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of our growth and innovation!

 

In the world of telecommunication, a NOC is a centralized location where NOC can directly support the efforts of remote monitoring and management of all network nodes. NOC Engineers are in place to keep a watchful eye over all monitored network nodes and to ensure 24 x 7 x 365 uptime for customers. Whether an organization maintains an in-house NOC or outsources to a third-party provider, the NOC’s primary functions and responsibilities remain the same.

 

Core responsibilities:  

  • Monitor & provide first level support, allowing on shift Engineer to work with relevant teams in quickly   fixing network issues before they have a major impact on customers.
  • Assist team with ticket creation and follow up with assigned technicians.
  • Good troubleshooting skills. 
  • Good analytical skills. 
  • Good customer service skills/etiquette.

Academic qualifications, Experience & Skills required for this role:

  • Qualification or Professional Certification in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or Information System or Computer Science or Tertiary Level Physics/Mathematics or IT or Networking or Routing/Switching or similar fields.
  • Knowledge and experience in networking, CS, IS, IT, ICT, telecommunications and power systems.
  • It is important to have some experience in the telecommunications sector and experience in dealing with a diverse customer base

Added Advantages:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in any of the above fields.
  • Professional certifications is not mandatory but will be an added advantage
  • Proven work experience in any of the above fields.
  • Highly organized and efficient

  • Attention to detail and accuracy

  • Strong analytical skills and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to multi-task quickly and efficiently handle pressure.
