JOB MISSION:
New Balance’s Global Public Relations Department is responsible for all brand/product public relations and corporate communications activities. You will assist with supporting global and North American public relations initiatives, including media relations, marketing project support and other external communications programs and agencies. You will coordinate the company’s product placement program, manage the New Balance Press Box website and Media Relations email, and manage the seeding program with external celebrity and press agencies.
MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Oversee product seeding for: Media requests, Celebrity agencies, Product wear-testing programs
- Own the PR Department’s footwear/apparel sample inventory (inclusive of ordering key product in time and organizing the sample closet to operate efficiently).
- Oversee New Balance product placement program to meet the needs of target media, celebrities, and influencers.
- Build and maintain influencer, celebrity and tastemaker list for potential seeding opportunities
- Build monthly priorities calendars for PR agencies.
- Conduct industry analysis including, but not limited to, competitor, consumer and category trends and provide reports to the team.
- Draft product pitches to distribute to relevant media outlets
- Manage the New Balance Press Box (inclusive of editing and posting press releases).
- Manage the New Balance Media Relations inbox and respond to requests appropriately.
- Manage monthly P-Card reports.
- Provide insight into culturally relevant influencers, celebrities, and publications for PR opportunities.
- Execute a final assignment in an area of priority/interest.
REQUIREMENTS FOR SUCCESS:
- Working towards a B.A. degree in an English/Communications related field.
- Public relations and corporate communications experience or experience in related field preferred.
- Candidate must be deadline oriented and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Candidate must have solid oral and written communications skills, including specific writing
- experience.
- Candidate must be energetic, have a positive, can-do attitude and experience working in a team environment.
This is a hybrid position and in person (Brighton, MA) is required.

Flexible Work Schedule

New Balance Associates currently work in office three days per week (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday). Our offices are fully open, and amenities are available across our North American office locations. To continue our focus on hybrid work we have introduced “Work from Anywhere” (WFA) for four weeks per calendar year. This model will help us enhance our culture while continuing to maintain elements of flexibility.
