About the Role

This position is available to CNX Mentorship Academy Students only. This is a Monday through Friday daylight summer internship starting on June 22nd. The internship will be 6 to 8 weeks. Opportunities lie in specialties such as Orthopaedics, Orthopaedic Trauma, Sports Medicine, Radiation Oncology, Medical Oncology, Research, Women's Health, Imaging, and more. 

Pay rate is $18.19/hr.


Responsibilities:

  • Participate in rotations to shadow UPMC staff and observe individual role’s job duties (Rotations and accompanying tasks to be determined by individual site supervisor).
  • Greet and assist visitors, physicians and other staff members.
  • Maintain accurate communication including, but not limited to, promptly answering telephones, activating the paging system, facilitating timely faxing, and distributing patient and unit mail.
  • Maintains waiting room and office supplies.
  • Prepares and resets exam rooms.
  • Stock materials and conduct inventory, as assigned.
  • Attend occasional UPMC and CNX events including but not limited to: Orientation, Graduation, and CNX Signing Day.
  • Maintain confidentiality and follow all HIPAA and departmental guidelines
  • *Performs in accordance with system-wide competencies/behaviors.
  • *Performs other duties as assigned.


High School Diploma Strongly Preferred
