The team you’ll join
The Business Development team at StepStone supports the firm’s global growth by partnering with investment, research, and client teams to help develop and maintain relationships with institutional investors. The team is involved in shaping how StepStone presents its strategies, performance, and capabilities to current and prospective clients across asset classes. Business Development plays a key role in supporting fundraising efforts, responding to investor inquiries, preparing marketing and due diligence materials, and coordinating across teams to ensure accurate, timely, and high‑quality client communication.
About the role
As an intern you will support the business development team in producing company presentations, product pitches and client materials to drive business growth. Interns will help organize networking events (e.g. cocktail events), conferences, product trainings/seminars and meetings to support business development activities. In addition, interns will facilitate data collection and analysis of industry trends, competitor activities and market opportunities as needed and assist in sourcing for the next batch of interns for the next internship cycle.
What you’ll do
In this role interns will provide logistical assistance and sales support to business development team members on an ad hoc basis. Assist in overseeing office operations to ensure smooth functioning of office processes and to address any issues promptly. Interns will manage administrative duties and deliver professional assistance to enhance productivity in the office and offer assistance and support to various departments based on specific needs and priorities, ensuring effective collaboration across teams.
Key responsibilities
- Support the Business Development team in preparing presentations, product pitches, and client materials
- Assist with the coordination of networking events, conferences, product trainings, and meetings
- Provide ad hoc logistical and administrative support to Business Development team members
- Help collect and analyze data related to market trends, competitors, and business opportunities
- Support recruiting efforts for the next internship cycle, including sourcing and coordination
- Assist with day‑to‑day office operations to ensure efficient workflows and smooth execution
- Collaborate with teams across the firm to provide operational and administrative support as needed
What we’re looking for
- Junior/Rising Senior committed to or graduated with a BA/BS in Finance, Economics or Accounting, or equivalent relevant experience
- Immediate ability to start working at StepStone, ideally for six months (minimum of three months)
- Ability to work in-person at the Singapore office
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
- Time management skills and ability to work independently while providing timely updates of key tasks and projects
- Problem-solving and critical thinking skills
- Microsoft Office apps - Excel, PPT, Word, Adobe etc.
