About the Role

Frontier Supply Chain Solutions Inc.is a provider of US and Canadian Customs Services, Trade Consulting and Supply Chain Logistics, which includes parcel and courier services.

 

Term Details:

Frontier is offering Part Time summer opportunity for a student currently pursuing human resources studies in a recognized post-secondary institution. The term will be a throughout the summer starting in June and concluding in August/September. The ideal student should be looking to completing their final term in their human resources studies and wishes to add to their human resources studies with a real-life practical work experience. 

 

Working hours are 3 to 5 hours in duration from Monday to Friday. Shifts times may vary due to operational needs. 

 

Daily Tasks & responsibilities:

The student will gain hands-on experience in a variety of functions typically performed by an entry-level HR Administrator. The student will support the HR team in areas including recruitment, employee onboarding, training coordination, company social activities, healthy and safety initiatives, and various ad hoc HR projects for Canadian and U.S. branch locations. The HR Administrator will also assist the HR Generalist with maintaining and updating the employee records in the HRIS system, ADP Workforce Now. 

 

You and Your Skills:

  • Perusing post-secondary studies in human resources.
  • Strong customer service, proactive engagement, and team collaboration.
  • Strong administrative and organizational skills including accurate data entry, document proofreading, and efficient typing. 
  • Displays leadership, initiative, and a thoughtful approach to sensitive situations.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion in handling confidential information within and outside the organization.
  • Effective communication with employees, vendors, and the public.
  • Customer service-oriented with the ability to prioritize urgent tasks.
  • Skilled at balancing multiple demands and maintaining attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint) and intermediate Excel (Pivot Tables, vlookup).
  • Experience with web-based systems and payroll software is a plus.
  • Knowledge of US and Canadian payroll laws, employment standards, and safety regulations.
