Job Description  

Reporting to the VP, Strategy, this role is responsible for supporting market intelligence, competitor benchmarking, business intelligence, and reporting across the Range Group portfolio. Working out of our head office in Toronto, this individual will conduct competitor benchmarking, financial and operational data analysis, and synthesize market information that enables decision-making across lines of business. The ideal candidate combines business acumen and communication skills. They will use internal and external data, analytics applications, and business tools (i.e., Excel, PowerPoint, BI tools) to provide business leaders with insights to drive critical decisions. They will collaborate and influence leaders and have a passion for using data and insights to uncover new opportunities for our client businesses to act upon. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Support competitor benchmarking and market intelligence practices (e.g., monitoring industry and economic reports, translating data into insights for the business).
  • Conduct ongoing assessments of our market position.
  • Support strategic initiatives through internal and external data analysis/benchmarking and presenting conclusions. 
  • Determine portfolio- wide needs for BI reporting (i.e., systems requirements, gap analysis, path to efficiencies).
  • Collaborate with business leaders to develop metrics and benchmarks (i.e., KPIs) to measure key functions and initiatives using data and technology. 
  • Identify and develop automation opportunities for data collection and reporting.   
  • Develop analytics dashboards. 

Preferred Qualifications:  

  • Working towards a Bachelor Degree in Business, Engineering, Operations, Economics, or Finance. 
  • Ability to create presentations and interview business leaders to capture insights are assets. 
  • Experience in Excel, PowerPoint, and Power BI are assets. 
  • Experience analyzing data, creating business/financial models, and using numerical outputs to recommend decisions are assets.
  • Experience with projects leveraging analytics and insights from multiple sources, including financial data, qualitative interviews, and market research is an asset. 
  • Experience in seeing through projects all the way through execution is an asset. 
  • Strong background in using various data modeling tools. 
  • Excellent communication skills.  
  • Naturally curious, with a strong determination to work around obstacles. 
  • Able to effectively manage ambiguity and change while working on cross-functional projects and initiatives. 
  • Entrepreneurial attitude and ownership mentality (i.e., no task is too small) with strong judgment, attention to detail and an analytical mind. 
  • Effective project management, prioritization, multi-tasking, and time management skills to meet deadlines. 
  • Works effectively in a team environment. 
  • Low ego and highly collaborative working style.
