Summary
Under close supervision of a Principal Consultant, this role provides hands-on experience in financial analysis, public sector consulting, and project delivery. The intern will work closely with principal consultants, project managers and analysts to assist with data analysis, research, and preparation of client deliverables. This is a part-time, temporary position from June 2026 – October 2026.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist with data collection, organization, and analysis using Excel and other tools.
- Support development of financial models, rate studies, and fee analyses.
- Conduct research on municipal finance topics, industry trends, and peer benchmarking.
- Prepare tables, charts, and exhibits for reports and presentations.
- Attend internal and client meetings; take notes and track action items.
- Assist with quality assurance reviews of reports and spreadsheets.
- Support preparation of proposals, presentations, and client communications.
- Perform general administrative and project support tasks as needed.
Job Requirements / Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Public Administration, or a related field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (experience with formulas, data analysis, and charts preferred).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Ability to apply mathematical concepts such as percentages, percent changes, and ratios.
- Ability to multi-task, set priorities and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to pay strict attention to details.
