About the Role

This is a 6–10-week, part-time summer opportunity for students aged 16 and older starting June 8th, 2026!

Work Hours: 5:00am-3:30pm

Schedule may vary and include 2–3 days per week, up to 30 hours per week.

While learning and adhering to company safety procedures and policies, the Student Assembler is responsible for learning electrical, mechanical, and electronic competencies to identify, analyze, and solve problems over a 6-10 week period of time. This experience provides valuable on‑the‑job training that may support future entry‑level manufacturing roles or full‑time employment. 

Role & Responsibility

  • Bobcat Company is currently hiring 10 part-time summer positions at our Statesville, NC location:

    • Actively participate in development of specified technical skills related to manufacturing as directed in the following areas: product realization, customer service, product design and development, purchasing, and quality measurements
    • Develop skills in assembly including, but not limited to, the use of hand tools
    • Learn and apply the use of measurement and inspection techniques using a variety of equipment
    • Fabricate mechanical parts, assemblies, and sub-assemblies and components into machines and/or mechatronic systems
    • Under the guidance of assigned stakeholders, modify machines, make minor changes, repair, test, and provide maintenance for related equipment
    • Performs duties in a safe, efficient manner in compliance with safety rules and regulations
    • Learn and adhere to quality standards
    • Performs overtime work as required
    • Perform other job functions as necessary
    • Participates and engages in continuous improvement
    • Keeps area clean and organized according to the 5S program

Job Requirement

  • Completion of Junior Year of High School.
  • Must be at least 16 years of age at time of hire
  • Completion of a minimum of 135 hours of work with the employer during the summer months
  • Maintain a 2.0 GPA
  • Ability to learn, practice and adhere to practical, hands on and safety requirements and standard basic hand and power tools
  • Understand basic arithmetic. Ability to speak and write in a clear and understandable manner for internal/external relations
  • Ability to communicate with others effectively in both written and verbal manner.
  • 0-2 years of Manufacturing or related experience.
  • Travel Standard < 10%
  • Note: Applicants under  the age of 18 must obtain and maintain a valid North Carolina Youth Employment Certificate (work permit) prior to starting employment [labor.nc.gov],
