Program Overview: 

Meathead Movers’ Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP) is a structured, paid summer work opportunity for motivated 16 and 17 year olds. You’ll work alongside our professional moving crews, build real-world skills, and get paid all before heading back to school in the fall.

No experience needed. Just show up ready to work hard, keep a great attitude, and be part of something bigger than yourself. Whether you play sports, stay active, or just want to put in an honest summer’s work, you belong here!

What You’ll Do:

  • Load and unload household and office items alongside your crew

  • Wrap, pad, and protect furniture and fragile items

  • Carry boxes, furniture, and equipment under direct supervision

  • Jog (when not carrying items) to keep the job moving efficiently; it’s a Meathead thing

  • Deliver exceptional customer service with a positive, professional attitude

  • Keep trucks and work areas clean and organized

  • Participate in marketing, training, and team activities as needed


Expectations of a Meathead:

  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull heavy objects.

  • Jogging during the moving process is required.

  • Punctuality and professionalism are essential.

  • Involvement in various activities such as marketing, clerical work, and training.

  • Adherence to our Service Pillars, including accountability for your actions, a positive attitude, customer focus, approachable demeanor, etc.

  • Offer will be contingent based upon successful completion of a background check.

Eligibility Requirements

To be considered for the Meathead Movers Summer Youth Employment Program, all applicants must meet the following requirements at the time of hire and maintain them throughout the duration of the program.


Age

  • Must be 16 or 17 years of age at the time of application

  • Must remain within the eligible age range for the full program duration

Work Authorization & Permits

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States

  • Must obtain and present a valid Permit to Employ and Work (CDE Form B1-4) issued by your school district before your first scheduled shift- NO EXCEPTIONS

  • Work permit must remain valid and in good standing for the duration of employment

Background & Conduct

  • Must consent to and successfully pass a pre-employment background check

  • Must agree to adhere to Meathead Movers' Code of Conduct and all SYEP program rules for the duration of employment


Compensation: We are proud to be in the top 5% of highest paying moving companies in the US, with a starting rate of $17.50 per hour + opportunity for raises, bonuses and commissions.
